Mayday is a distress signal from a ship or plane in distress.
The work was originally conceived as a kidnapping, about the fear generated in the kidnapping and thus a cry for help.
We are held hostage by our time, which is afraid of the politics we face today, global epidemics, natural disasters, wars, terrorist attacks, the dominant public opinion, the injustice done to women and even the fact that technology is advancing too fast. But what is particularly desperate is that no one believes that anyone will be saved in Mayday. As a result, Mayday will be a formal performance, monotonous and passionless. It was an act of self-consolation.
In the events described above, humans lose their proper human posture. Are humans dogs? Is the person on the other side really human? And where is the line between cyborgs and humans? Contrary to biblical accounts, in this kidnapping, humanity loses the privilege of salvation.
All that happens after 2019 will be like a plane crash for us. When it comes, we can only pick up our transceiver and shout Mayday to those elsewhere who are suffering.
Mayday
